Jeppson, John

John Jeppson is the former chairman and CEO of Norton Company in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has served as chairman of both the American Antiquarian Society and Clark University and as a trustee of numerous civic organizations. A graduate of Amherst College–where he was a champion hurdler–and the Harvard Business School, he says his proudest academic achievement came at seventy–four when he graduated first in his class in the Master Gardner program at the University of Massachusetts Extension. He divides his time between Brookfield and Worcester where he has lived with his wife of sixty years, Marianne.

Making Hay: Tales from Oakholm, a farm in Massachusetts

$28.00

COMBINING LOCAL HISTORY, family memoir and a naturalist’s simple affection for place, John Jeppson recalls his family’s efforts to adapt a well-loved property to changing times. Bought in 1925 and now hosting a fifth generation of the Jeppson family, Oakholm has been optimistically run as a commercial enterprise in Brookfield, Massachusetts during the better part of a century in which farming has virtually disappeared from the local landscape.
